Krabi has truly ancient roots, with human tracks ranging as far back as 30,000 B.C. Widely recognised for its bushy limestone cliffs, Krabi has increased in popularity amongst paradise-seeking holidaymakers in recent years. Situated only some 200 kilometers from Phuket, Krabi actually has its own airport.
Krabi Beach — for Families and Couples
Krabi Beach, whose real name is Ao Phra Nang, is a beloved holiday destination for many Europeans — not least from the Scandinavian countries. Even if the beach is quite nice, including the culinary amenities, there is not much of a nightlife — at least not if compared to Phuket. On the other hand, this may indeed be deemed a competitive advantage by many families and couples.
Krabi City + Other Beaches
When it comes to Krabi City, it is similar to Phuket City, if substantially smaller — that is offering as good as nothing of interest for the average holidaymaker, apart from some at least semi-decent shopping.
Other Krabi beaches worthy of visiting are Tham Phra Nang Beach, with really first-class sand water quality, Railay Beach, with excellent rocks for climbing, and Nopparattara Beach, being part of the same national park as Phi Phi Island and vastly popular with Thai people.
