The small fishing village of Huay Yang is located some 130 kilometers south of Hua Hin. Huay Yang was virtually unknown to the world until the beginning of the 2000s. Today it is second home to more than 1,000 Scandinavians that constitute the biggest group of nationality — second only to the Thais.
Expanding Relaxation Community for Families
The interesting thing about Huay Yang is that the indigenous Thai fishing community lives side-by-side with the modern international ‘snowbird’ community — at least seemingly in good harmony. There seems to be a lot going for Huay Yang: in the not-too-distant future we are likely to see several top-notch resorts and property projects, direct flights from Bangkok, and perhaps even a golf course.
Huay Yang is truly outstanding for those holidaymakers who just love to soak up the sun; the endless beach, of very high quality, offers extensive opportunities for relaxation — reading, recreating or just existing. That’s the good news; the other side of the coin is that the number of other activities such as shopping or city sightseeing are markedly limited. Obviously, Huay Yang is more for the family than the adventurous teenager.
