Cha-Am is like a smaller sister of Hua Hin. Even if Cha-Am is also growing rather rapidly, it yields to Hua Hin in most aspects — though not when it comes to the price level that is considerably nicer to your wallet than that of Hua Hin. The distance between Cha-Am and Hua Hin is only 25 kilometers. With both cities expanding towards each other, this distance is decreasing as we write.
Two Cities in One
Cha-Am has a more-than-adequate beach, which also holds true for accommodation as well as restaurant offerings. Although the property market is booming also here, the home-buyers to a larger extent are made up of Thai people. The same can be said about the beach-using population that is rather dominated by Bangkokians — especially during the weekends. As a matter of fact, Cha-Am is divided into one beachfront part and one city-center part with some 10 minutes distance in between.
